Rajesh Gopinathan, who has been with the company for the past 22 years, was its MD & CEO for the last six years. In fact, he had a runway of another 4 years after he was reappointed till 2027 in March 2022.

Under Gopinathan's leadership, TCS's revenue grew to $22 billion, making it one of the largest IT services companies in the world. He also oversaw the acquisition of leading companies like W12 Studios and Postbank Systems. Gopinathan was known for his strong vision and strategic thinking, which helped TCS navigate through challenging times.

Ganapathy Subramaniam, who will be taking over as CEO, has been with TCS for over three decades and has played a key role in the company's growth.
